Post-Solstice Musings of Love and Gratitude
As the sun is setting on 2025, I find myself in a contemplative mood. A reflective state of mind feels natural after every winter solstice, a time of balance between darkness and light. It will soon be January, named after the god Janus, who faces backward and forward. The year is of course really a circle, not a line; our planet has simply completed another revolution around the sun.
The day before the winter solstice, I conducted a dialogue circle for the Taos Noetic Sciences group on Fascist America or Sacred America. I plan to write about that in my next post. But for now, I just want to be fully present and breathe. As I sit here, I feel deep waves of love and gratitude.
I am grateful for the trees that give out the oxygen that I breathe in, and I return to them the sacred carbon dioxide they need to complete the sacred circle. I am grateful for Father Sun for his light, warmth, and energy, and for Mother Earth, the mother of all things, for her steadfast loving support. I am grateful to the waters in the sky, under the earth, in the oceans, rivers, and brooks, and also the water in my own heart, and in my arteries, veins, and capillaries mirroring the waters of the Earth.
I am most grateful for the vibration of love that permeates all of the natural world and cosmos. Love is present everywhere, in the light, air, water, and earth. Thank you to each and every one of you reading this. May you be blessed with love, joy, peace, and prosperity in the new year. May all of humanity, and all the animals, plants, trees, birds, flowers and bees be blessed. Thank you Creator, for this precious gift of life.
